Forum Index does not require an account to browse topics. Contributions are optional and are collected with your consent.

What we collect

When you enable contributions, we collect your device name, contributor display name, and activity such as topic reads, star changes, and reports about topics. These contributions are associated with an app installation identifier. On supported Apple devices, we also use Apple’s device verification service.

You can choose your device name and display name; neither needs to include your real name.

Why we collect it

We use contributions to influence the app’s recommendation and ranking algorithm, personalizing your feed and improving the topics shown to other users.

Who can see it

Your contribution information is not public. We do not share contribution information with other providers.

Your choices

You can stop contributing by selecting “Opt out of contributions” in the app. This stops future activity reporting and revokes this device’s contribution access. Your locally saved stars remain. Opting out does not by itself mean previously submitted contributions are deleted.

Retention

We plan to retain contribution activity logs for 90 days. This retention limit is not yet in effect, so logs are not currently guaranteed to be deleted after 90 days. We will update this policy when the limit is implemented.
